Dinosaur Petting Zoo

I took the girls to the “Out of the Box” festival today and we saw Erth’s “Dinosaur Petting Zoo” as part of the performance – it was fantastic.

There was lots of opportunity for all the kids there to get involved – they all got to pat the Baby Dryosaur.

It’s a good thing the Baby Dryosaur is a puppet – any real animal would struggle to cope with so many little hands!
Meganeura with Erth’s Scott

Meganeura landed on a lot of kid’s heads :)

Leaellynasaura getting some personal attention

Leaellynasaura was very popular and a few kids were lucky enough to get very close indeed.  Then came the star of the show – Australovenator.  I think the kids enjoyed running in mock terror from him the most.

Hockeyroos 3 – 0

I had the pleasure of going with Dad to see the 3rd Test between the Australian and United States of America Hockey teams (womens) at the April Ballinger Hockey Complex at Buderim this afternoon.

The level of athleticism and competition was pretty awesome.  You can see why both teams are Olympics-bound.  The Hockeyroos dominated the game, scoring 3 goals in the first half for a deserved 3 – 0 victory.

I had a good spot which gave me a chance to try out my new Canon EF-S 55 – 250 f/4 – 5.6 lens.  It’s a cheapie but I was pretty happy with how it performed.

(I will conveniently ignore the fact that the USA won the first 2 games 1 – 0 and 2 – 1 and say GO HOCKEYROOS FOR LONDON!)

Silhouettes, Limestone Park

I shot some action pictures for friends early yesterday morning at Limestone Park.   The early light (zero cloud) and heavy dew made for some interesting conditions.

I don’t take all that many photos of people, but was happy with how most of them turned out.

I will keep the portrait shots for them rather than post them on the interweb thingy, but I liked these silhouette shots enough to share:

Surf Shots

some fun shots from holidays, taken at Alex Heads and Rainbow Bay.  Yes, I got rather wet taking some of these…
